Plaza de España (Spain Square), located in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. An example of Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival styles Spanish architecture. Today Plaza de España mainly consists of Government buildings.
